2.0 keeps getting bigger and bigger, literally! As a part of promotions for the film, 100 ft tall hot air balloons with life size images of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar printed on them with 2.0 logo were released in Los Angeles earlier this week. The balloons would be flying over the famous Hollywood Hills, California and San Francisco. They’ll also be shadowed at places in Europe, Dubai, London and Australia and various other cities in India.

Akshay Kumar’s next GOLD has gone on the floors in London. The film has been inspired by Indian Hockey Team’s historic win at the 1948 London Olympics where the Indian team bagged the 1st medal for the country as a free nations team. Co-starring in Gold are Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, sunny Kaushal. TV actress Mouni Roy is also going to debut with this film. The film is directed by Reema Katgi and is going to be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

 The fever of biopics is still running high; now we will be seeing a biopic on the life of Badminton star Pullela Gopichand. The work on the film is already underway. The rights for the Padmashree awardee player-coach’s story have been acquired by Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainmenmt. We can only assume that the highlight of the film would be Gopichand’s hand in ending China’s dominance in the sport and helping India become a badminton superpower.

The OSCARS, in an attempt to bring diversity, has this year made as many as 744 invitations from 683 last year, to renowned personalities all over the world. The basic requirement to be on the invitation would be that a candidate should have had demonstrated excellent accomplishments in the fi eld of motion pictures; and hence top names from the Bollywood industry have been on the invitation list. The personalities invited from Bollywood include Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Irrfan Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone among a few other names invited. Another court room drama seems to be on the cards for Taapsee Pannu. Taapsee will be seen along with Rishi Kapoor in this film where she will be seen playing the role of a lawyer. This film is going to be directed by Abhinay Deo.
