A comic caper, ‘Arjun Patiala’ starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma seems to be the perfect film to fill in the need for funny film with a Punjabi Tadka. It’s also directed by Rohit Jugraj, who’s given hits in Punjabi cinema. The film has connected to people at the trailer level and if the film has great content, it shall get moderate initials but will do great on the basis of word-of-mouth! Here are some interesting factors working for the film.

T-series and Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Maddock Films’ come together to produce this one. Dinesh Vijan is known to make some interesting films with great content, hence two of these companies coming together is definitely working in its favour. Overall, the scale of the film looks great and is appealing in terms of the visuals and narrative. Also, Diljit Dosanjh teaming up with his ‘Sardaarji’ director Rohit Jugraj is a hit team coming together.

Comedies are evergreen and if made well, a comedy film has never failed to make a mark. Also, largely, this film will appeal to the Punjabi cinema audience and work more in those areas since Diljit is a big star there and this film is based in Punjab. Comedies with a Punjabi tadka have their own charm and work more often than not. The film also gives out an important message, despite the humour. Also, comedies are a refreshing change amidst the serious, content-driven cinema we’re making lately.

Sachin-Jigar’s music is doing really well and has become popular among the audience, especially ‘Crazy Habibi’. Since the songs also have the Punjabi feel, they have a huge appeal amongst the masses.

Kriti Sanon’s pairing with Diljit is unique and interesting at the same time. Varun Sharma is another USP, considering this is a comedy. Diljit has been gaining immense popularity in Hindi cinema post ‘Ulta Punjab’ and then of course ‘Soorma’. He has also been cast in ‘Good News’ next with Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani. He already enjoys a massive fan following in Punjab. Overall, a good team always is one of the biggest highlights for a film. The film also has actors like Ronit Roy, Seema Pahwa, which make for a great ensemble of good actors.
