Our Opening Day Prediction
‘Baazaar’ is a crime drama set in the backdrop of money, power and business, largely based on the stock market. We believe the film will do good business and will be an impactful film. Here are the factors we believe will work in its favor.
Kishen Mohan Girhotra is a young man who belongs to Moradabad, a city in Uttar Pradesh. One critical day Kishen gets accused of a murder which lands him in Lucknow Central jail where he is awaiting his high court trial for a death penalty. Meanwhile, an assiduous NGO worker Gayatri Kashyap, ( Diana Penty) is obliged to form a band of prisoners for the band competition which is to be held in the dreaded jail of ‘Lucknow Central’ that year and this is how Kishen and her paths cross. Kishen befriends four other inmates, and convinces them to join the band. But has a different plan in head. The dramatic narrative of ‘Lucknow Central’ portrays how Kishen’s life progresses in jail and how music becomes a difficult part of not only his journey, but the rest of the bands as well.
Be it any genre film but crime drama has its own thrills and expectations among the audiences. It’s one of the most appreciated and entertaining genres’. It’s one of the genre’s that deals with common man day to day life stories, with bitter facts. In the past we have seen films like ‘Satya’, ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Andhadhun’ and many more which have went down as all time classic films in Bollywood. ‘Baazaar’, is in the same space and promises to be full on entertainer.
‘Baazaar’ being a crime drama, one assume the album to have a so-so soundtrack, but no, in this case the album sees a good mix of Sufi, EDM and Punjabi, making it worth a hear. Right from “Kem Cho” to “Billionaire” to “Adhura Lafz”, to “Chhod Diya”, all the songs have picked up very well , adding to the film’s buzz.
