The much anticipated sequel to the 2015 blockbuster BAHUBALI – THE BEGINNING released to a mammoth response all across the nation yesterday. The movie is on the verge of creating history from day one onwards. A triple digit day one is something we have never experienced in the country and BAHUBALI – THE CONCLUSION is all set to deliver just that. Let’s put things in perspective, BAHUBALI 2, the biggest ever opening for a film in Hindi or dubbed in Hindi on a non national holiday with absolutely no Hindi versions playing in the South of India at all. The early estimates are said to be in the range of 38-40 crores. The previous biggest Hindi opening day number on a national holiday is held by PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO (2015) – 39.50 crore. While the highest Hindi opening day on a regular day is held by DHOOM 3 (2013) – 33 crores. If one goes by the early estimates then it is likely that the movie in its Hindi version alone will get to a lifetime total of around 300 crores plus. BAHUBALI 2 can also very well be India’s first 1000 crore grossing movie which would really make it the first ‘regional’ movie to really transcend itself to a pannation stage with such ease and aplomb. All this is without what the movie is going to achieve in the overseas market which is again a huge stage for the movie of this magnitude. Early estimates for its weekend overseas numbers are upwards of the $20 million mark.
