John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani take their collaboration further with ‘Batla House’. The thriller drama is inspired by Operation Batla House, an incident that allegedly took place against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in the Batla House in Delhi.  The tagline says, ‘the story of India’s most decorated/controversial cop’. The case was about this one man who has had 70 encounters, a record 22 convictions from 30 cases and nine Gallantry Awards. John is playing the role of ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav in the investigative drama. Here are a few factors on why we think the film will do well at the box-office.

John Abraham is back with a bang. Over the time, John has proved his worth with his body of work.  We have seen him connect to the audience with great work and films that have something valuable to offer. He has been quite alert and intellectual in choosing the work he is doing and that makes him one of the reliable actors among others. In ‘Batla House’, John is seen playing the role of ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. We have witnessed a huge transition in John’s approach, from having a chocolate boy image to playing these strong, hard-hitting officer roles.  We count the actor as one of the USPs of the film. We believe, he won’t disappoint his fans with this real, power pac, action – thriller film.

A real story has some sort of connectivity and that strikes a chord with the audience. ‘Batla House’, is one of those stories that was never spoken about and had been in the vault for years.  It is based on the real story of the controversial encounter of Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Delhi, eleven years ago. As per the trailer, the film showcases the criticism that follows the encounter, which was termed a fake encounter and ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav is left to prove otherwise. A real-life story like this creates curiosity and has a scope in pulling in the audiences to watch the film.

We always witness many trends in Hindi cinema, some work, some don’t! We have seen filmmakers taking a chance to present films based on real-life events on celluloid, trying to be authentic enough. Such real-life based films inspire us and make us aware about the facts of history – most of them which the common man doesn’t know of. There’s immense curiousity among the audience for such films. They are evolving and are accepting such subjects with great sensibility. Thus, we believe ‘Batla House’ may receive a good footfall at the cinema halls, and more so with positive word of mouth.

Ever since the posters and trailer were out, it created a lot of buzz around and was well received. The posters looked intriguing with taglines like – ‘Kya yeh encounter farzi hai?’, ‘Izzat. Farz.Desh.’, ‘India’s most decorated/ controversial cop’. These made an impact and made the audiences eager to know more about the real life story and how!   The trailer is crisp and content and doesn’t spill more than required to intrigue the viewers.
