Another fine coming of age film with a singing television reality show as its backdrop and set in the beautiful snowcapped mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Som (Yatharth Ratnum) is a very smart studious and ambitious boy who wants to be a cricketer or a pilot someday but his destiny takes him to a song dance reality show Raga Rocks where he makes it to one of the final rounds but loses his voice in  one of the difficult classical songs he has to sing and he is eliminated from the show and he gets depressed and frustrated because his mother Vani (Gracy Singh) a former singer herself wants her son to be a top singer inspite of her husband Om (Ranveer Shorey’s) reservations and no support to his son but he changes his mind after seeing his son perform on television . But now Som is distraught and even angry with his friends like Oshin (Simran Sharma) and Humpty (Rishabh Sharma). But with the efforts of his school principal Mr.Mathews (Arif Zakaria), good neighbor (Mahesh Thakur), and a devoted family servant Damodar (Rajpal Yadav) Som is brought out of his shell and is all set to learn music from Vani’s guru (Vinod Nagpal) and luckily he is offered playback singing assignments in Bombay much to his surprise. Everyone is happy for him but the film also denotes the pressure the young children have in reality shows to get selected and win.  Ranveer Shorey has underplayed his role beautifully. Gracy Singh is impressive and this beautiful talented actress deserves more. Yatharth Ratnum as Soma and Akshay has done well in his difficult role considering his young age. The other boys and girls too have done well. Rajpal Yadav is his usual jovial effervescent self.  Monty Sharma, Sapna Awasthi, and Nitin play themselves as the judges and do it well. The director Suman Ganguli has done a swell job and the cinematography is simply outstanding. Musically the film is a success with all the songs. A film worth a look.
