From brand new faces ready to take over Hindi cinema to plots being weighed more than the star cast, 2018 was fruitful.  There were many actors who started their career with amazing films like ‘Dhadak’, ‘Gold’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘October’, ‘Karwaan’ and many more.  2018 witnessed some amazing actors from the television, star kids and some fresh faces.  We at Super Cinema have listed the impactful debutants of 2018 who have weaved magic on the big screen with their talent and dedication.


Not one, but Sara Ali Khan had bagged two successful films simultaneously. She made her debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. The film was a love story set against the backdrop of the flash floods that wrecked the temple in June 2013.   In a matter of weeks the young actress saw her second release with Rohit Shetty’s SIMMBA co-starring Ranveer Singh. Sara Ali Khan has been the talk of the town ever since she was prepping for her debut film. The actress has garnered immense appreciation from the critics and has a huge fan falling already.


Ishaan Khatter has registered himself as a fabulous actor. He made his debut with Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds. The film was centered on a brother- sister relationship. Ishaan was exceptional in this one and his acting skills have been praised by one and all. Khatter was also seen a few months later in Shashank Khaitan’s DHADAK opposite another debutant Jhanvi Kapoor for which the actor once again was applauded with rave reviews and commercial success as well.


Janhvi Kapoor’s ideal break was one of the most-talked about debuts in 2018. She made her debut with the film Dhadak starring opposite Ishaan Khattar directed by Shashank Khaitan.  Dhadak which is a Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster film Sairat.  Janhvi was appreciated for her performance and her desi look in the film from the critics and fans.


There has been a huge transition for Radhika Madan from television to the big screen. She made her debut with Vishal Bhardwaj’ s Pataakha. Radhika was quite impressive and had made an impact on the critics through her performance and to be able to do pull off an unusual de-glamour role was commendable.


Rohan Mehra is the son of late actor Vindo Mehra. Like father like son, is a fine actor. He made his debut with the film Baazaar directed by Gauraav K Chawla. Baazaar is set against the backdrop of the stock market, and had also featured Saif Ali Khan.  Rohan had an impressive performance and the critics and audience had reasons to appreciate the actor.


Mouni Roy has been regaling Indian television lovers since first starring in NAAGIN. Having featured in a slew of other fiction and non-fiction shows, Mouni made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold, a sports drama helmed by Reema Kagti.  Her charming looks and fine acting is quite a reason to make an impact on everyone.


Dulquer Salmaan is a popular face down south and his amazing looks and spectacular acting prowess has made him win a million hearts. Dulquer Salmaan may be ruling hearts in the south industry with his remarkable performances.  He finally made his Bollywood debut with a road trip film KarwAan with Irrfan Khan. Directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.


Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma made his Bollywood debut with the film Love Yatri, the film which was produced by Salman Khan and was set against the backdrop of the festival of Navratri, a romantic drama film.  Aayush garnered praises for his looks and acting skills.


Bagging a debut film with a fine filmmaker like Shoojit Sircar is an achievement in itself and for Banita Sandhu, October seemed to be just the perfect break.  Banita got the golden opportunity to showcase her talent rightfully. In fact, it takes a lot of courage to be a part of a project which demands you to emote more without saying much, and Banita did it ever so beautifully with her role as Shiuli in October. Hailing from the modeling world, Banita put in a lot of efforts in order to retain the part despite the language barrier. She even took Hindi lessons and dubbed for the movie in her own voice which shows her ardent passion towards being an actress.


Mrunal Thakur appears in Marathi films and Indian soaps opera’s. She made her Bollywood debut in Tabrez’s  Nooran’s Love Sonia. The actress played the title role in the film that brings to light the issue of global human trafficking. She plays a village girl, who was trapped in the global sex trade in the film. The young actress reportedly stayed near a brothel in Kolkata to study the body language of the prostitutes for the film. With all this hard work she was appreciated and made an impact as a debutant 2018.


Mithila Palkar is another stunner who was an internet sensation. Her performance in web series like Girl in the City and Little Things has already made her a darling among the audience. Thanks to her cute looks and sheer talent, she landed with a Bollywood project after making a mark in the Marathi Film industry. Mithila made her Bollywood debut with Dulquer in the film Karwaan.
