The first look of the trailer gives you goose bumps as it has the essence of suspense and thriller. The film ‘Daddy’ directed by Ashim and stars Arjun Rampal, Aishwarya Rajesh has immense anticipation since it is based on Arun Gawli’s life. The film is an unfolding jigsaw puzzle, told from different points-of-view and spanning over four decades. In a way, we believe ‘Daddy’ is a niche film that will just shine. It’s slated to release on September 8th 2017.

From the trailer we see that it’s the story of a gangster Arun Gawli who decides his own destiny. It is based on true events of the former Mumbai-based gangster-turned-politician, Arun Gawli. He eventually decided to go on to become one of India’s most feared gangsters. As we see from the trailer, how he is the most feared gangster at the same time we would see a twist in the story where he turns into a politician which will mark the turning point of the film. ‘Daddy’ follows the intertwined fates of the world-weary Gawli as he attempts to enter politics and a frustrated Police inspector with a secret history of his own. The trailer is edgy, and arouses immense curiosity for what the film has to offer.

Arjun Rampal

He has always been on the top regarding to his acting skills. We have enjoyed his performances as a hero or a villain of the film. This time in his upcoming film ‘Daddy’ we see him in an unseen avatar of a gangster Arun Gawli who turns into a politician. He seems to have beautifully portrayed the character and has mixed himself with the role of the film. He is still remembered for his brilliant performances in ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Rock On!!’ Apart from Arjun being part of film as an actor, he has been part of writing the screenplay and also has produced the film himself along with Rutvij Patel which makes it more compelling to watch it.

Based on true story

As we see now a day’s it’s been kind of trendy to see the biopic of known personalities. But after long there would be a biopic on a gangster turned politician Arun Gawli. The plot of the story seems to be strong which would help the story to hold on to their audiences since people know about this man. When you know someone, there’s more curiousity to know about that person’s life – perhaps why we think biopics are doing so well lately. We’re hoping the film lives up to the expectations and it will really attract a certain section of the audience, especially from Maharashtra and Mumbai.
