This is a slice of a life film based on the travails of two children , a girl Pari (Hetal Gaada) and a boy Chhotu (Krrish Chhabria) in Rajasthan. The boy is blind and the sister wants him to take him to super star Shahrukh Khan who is shooting in a far off location and this is the journey of these two kids from their home to the SRK location who walk miles and miles and meet all sorts of people some nice and some not so nice, like a benevolent trucker, a fake baba, her fake devotee, a marriage singer (Vijay Maurya) , a mentally deranged man (Suresh Menon),etc but ultimately the children reach their destination and the boy is restored his eyesight with an operation sponsored by SRK but he is showed only in a silhouette. Te film is watchable because of the dialogues between the two children which are funny and also the pain incurred by these two children who are orphans and are ill-treated by their aunt but have a loving uncle (Vipin Sharma). Nagesh Kukunoor seems to be a great fan of Iranian films like ‘Children of Heaven’, etc. But his direction is very sensitive and touching and sometimes the film gives us a feel of the Saawan Kumar Tak oldie ‘Naunihaal’. It’s a road movie with a difference. The vast deserts of Rajasthan have been beautifully shot by DOP Chirantan Das. The music by Tapas Relia has local flavor. The editing by Sanjib Datta could have made the film more pacier and absorbing as it’s a tad too long. Vipin Sharma, Vibha Chhiber, Vijay Maurya, Suresh Menon, Gulfam Khan, Rajeev Laxman , lend good support but the show is dominated by the two kids. All in all, a sensitive film with good performances.
