In all my years in the industry and I have worked with everyone but the kind of focus and the kind rehearsal this person does is just commendable and I have choreographed a few songs for him like ‘Bole Chudiyaan, ‘Shaava Shaava’ and ‘Rock N Roll’. We used to get tired and tell him sir we cannot rehearse anymore but he still wanted to continue with it. To be at that stature and still have that insecurity and the nervousness, there is no one in the world like him.

At 75, he is doing so many things and the kind of energy he has; I used to say shot ready the first person to go and stand on the mark used to be Mr Bachchan; that kind of energy is something else only. I remember meeting him at Feroz Khan’s prayer meeting and there was a long line to meet the family and there were many trying to jump the queue but he stood in the line and at some point even I wanted to jump but I went up to him and told him, ‘Sir hats off to you’. He replied, ‘Feroz Khan has been my old friend and this is the least I can do for him. This much respect I can show him for him’. For him to think like that is admirable. Look at this today, KBC is the highest rated show. He is still going on so strong. So, for me there is so much to learn from him. I love Abhishek; for me he is my bachcha, but for Mr Bachchan, the energy and the drive that he has even today is laudable.

I just absolutely loved him in Piku. Even now, being a veteran in the industry, he is so humble. He will come and ask me when are you making your movie, I toh die only when someone like him asks me and then on the other hand there are these youngsters who people are chasing and they are behaving as if they are Amitabh Bachchan and in reality they are nowhere near him. People need to emulate that at his stature he will never make you feel that I have arrived and I see if one film of theirs is a hit they go completely mad. How many of them have come and gone, today nobody is looking at them. From him I have learnt that even if today, I have to choreograph a song I will go and do the rehearsal; if he can do it then so can all of us.
