GOLD is a spots biopic based on Indian Hockey Team’s Olympic Gold victory in 1948, a year after Indian Independence. The film is about the struggle and journey of Indian Hockey Team Players of the 1948 team and Team Manger Tapan Das played by Akshay Kumar.

Plot:

GOLD is a historical sports drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal. The film traces the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936, who dreams of playing for an independent nation. In the 2 minute 19 second trailer we see Akshay Kumar as a coach of Indian Hockey team who dreams of winning a gold medal for a free nation India and what hurdles and struggles he had to face. Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal play the role of Hockey players along with Mouni Roy who plays the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife. The trailer gives Goosebumps and is all set to win the hearts of audiences this Independence Day as the film releases on 15th August 2018.

Genre:

Be it any genre, Sport biopics are always fun to watch. The movies are based on the life and journey of an individual, his or her struggle. In the past we have seen movies like DANGAL, BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG, CHAK DE INDIA, MARY KOM, M.S Dhoni and others which not only did well at the box office but also critically. GOLD is also of the same genre and the trailer gives an idea the film will do very well and also there is a lot of buzz generated among the audiences.

Star Cast:

The film stars Akshay Kumar, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh, Sunny Kaushal, Mouni Roy. All the actors look brilliant in their respective role. From his accent of a Bengali person to his body language to his facial expression, Akshay Kumar looks brilliant. The other actors are also looking nice. This film also marks the debut of Mouni Roy in Hindi Films. She looks amazing and looks like will do full justice to her role.

Soundtrack:

The music of the film is very nice, the song Naino Ne Baandhi sung by Yasser Desai and music composed by Arko has already reached over 30 million views online and is at the top of the chartbuster. The other song Chad Gayi Hai sung by Vishal Dadlani and Sachin & Jigarand music composed by Schin-  Jigar has been viewed by 29 million people so far.
