‘Ittefaq’ is an adaption of 1969 classic film, ‘Ittefaq’ – starring Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. The new film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna. The film promises a classic old mystery with the story being told from two people’s perspective. The film is the late BR Chopra’s grandson Abhay Chopra’s directorial debut, co- produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma productions and BR films. Here we state why we think the film will strike a chord at the box-office. The film is slated to release on November 3, 2017.

Ever since the first poster of ‘Ittefaq’ was out, it had already created buzz among the audience and since then there has been eagerness for the film. The trailer has been promising, intriguing and it craves more of the film. The audiences are waiting to see brilliant acting by Akshaye Khanna, Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra. The trailer revolves around this murder mystery having one incident with two versions to talk about. Vikram (Siddharth) is accused for double murder charges. On the other hand Maya (Sonakshi) tells a different story and defends herself by pointing out on Vikram for obvious reasons. Dev (Akshaye Khanna) who is investing this case is torn in between the two versions of the story. Dev will not settle down until he finds out the real truth between his truth and her truth. We too can’t wait to know the truth behind the lies.

Be it any genre film but murder mysteries are always one of the genres that are looked after more – for its making, suspense and thrill that it gives the audience while watching the film. It is obvious to say that it keeps a person engaged and entertained throughout the film. It is one of the genres that is most likely to not get people bored. It is captivating because the audience is gripped in suspecting and judging the murderer throughout the film until the climax is revealed. Murder mysteries have been made ever since the film industry emerged and is always been appreciated and accepted by the viewers. Murder mystery films like ‘Talaash’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Kaun’, ‘Gupt’ which are still remembered and is an all time watch. ‘Ittefaq’ seems to be heading in the same space and make its mark once again with the recreated verse.

It will be intriguing to watch the trio together onscreen. Akshaye Khanna is undoubtedly the best and one of the finest actor when it comes to playing authoritarian roles. He is back as the no – nonsense cop after playing a similar role in ‘Mom’. Sonakshi Sinha has proved herself in playing tough, strong roles; her last release ‘Akira’ was well accepted and was critically acclaimed for her performance. Here we see her playing a slightly grey role that is misunderstood and has been suspected for a murder. Her performance as per the trailer seems to be promising. On the other hand Sidharth Malhotra has been seen playing versatile roles be it in ‘Ek Villain’, ‘The Gentlemen’ or ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and through ‘Ittefaq’ we will get to see another side of him.

Murder mysteries are not so known for songs and music but the title song of the fi lm “Ittefaq Se (Raat Baki)” is simply attractive and pleasing to hear. While the original was voiced by Asha Bhosle and Bappi Lahiri, the remix has been sung by Jubin Nautiyal and Nikita Gandhi. Tanishk Bagchi has recreated Bappi Lahiri’s evergreen composition which has hit the chartbusters.
