Our Opening Day Prediction

Belonging to the heartland of Bihar, ‘Jabariya Jodi’ is about a guy who kidnaps grooms to get them married forcefully. From the trailer itself, the film looks like an interesting take on this existing phenomenon in Bihar and the love story blooming from there seems quirky. The film we believe, might strike a chord with the audience and work well considering the following factors.

STORY

The film is based on the tradition of groom-kidnapping which is prevalent in Bihar. True stories based from the roots, have a connect with the audience more often than not. Those who are aware of these stories, want to see them on celluloid and those who aren’t are curious to know more. Hence, we see many films going back to our roots. Also, the colloquial dialect as used by the leads sounds interesting and overall, it looks like a good blend of real and reel.

ENSEMBLE CAST

Parineeti Chopra and Siddharth Malhota were last seen together in ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ which was well-received and the songs continue to be loved even today. The duo seem to share an interesting chemistry in this film as well. Both the actors have a huge fan base, among the youth hence they would be curious to see this one.

MUSIC

The music has gained momentum. ‘Khadke Glassy’ especially is reigning the chartbusters. Music plays a big role in spreading awareness for the film and when it does well, it definitely adds to the film.

LOOK AND FEEL

Overall, the film looks like it has a lot of entertainment – right from the dialogue baazi to the love story. It seems like a nice refreshing, fun, visually good monsoon release for the audience to enjoy. Here’s hoping it doesn’t disappoint.
