Kaashi in Search of Ganga is a layered tale of revenge with a good dose of romance and suspense. Kaashi (Sharman Joshi) is a corpse burner who lives on the banks of the river Ganges in Varanasi. Despite caste and class differences, he catches the attention of Devina (Aishwarya Devan) a journalist, who is in the holy city in search of a story. Slowly, their friendship blossoms into love. The story takes a turn when Devina tells kaashi that his college going sister Ganga (Priyanka Singh) is missing. How he leaves no stone unturned to find his sister becomes the rest of the story.

Technically the film is good. Cinematographer Attar Singh Saini has brilliantly captured Varanasi in all its elements. The editing by Parth Y. Bhatt is okay. The music of the film doesn’t leave a mark. The screenplay has been written poorly and has been the biggest let down. The characters are weak as well.

Performances from the cast have been decent. Sharman Joshi has been okay. He could have been a lot better but it seems poor screenplay and dialogues may have let him down. Aishwarya Devan makes a convincing debut. Senior actors like Manoj Pahwa, Akhilendra Mishra, Manoj Joshi and Govind  Namdev were disappointing owing to the script.

Director Dhiraj Kumar did nothing to lift the movie and salvage it somehow. he could have done a lot better.

At the box-office
