‘Kalank’ is a period drama and one of the most anticipated films. The movie is directed by Abhishek Verman. It is an epic story of turbulent relationships and eternal love. It was set in the backdrop of India’s partition. The family has its hidden truth and starts to come to light as communal tension rises and partition nears. The trailer looks good and interesting. Here are some factors that we believe will work in its favour.

‘Kalank’ is a love story. The story has many hidden truths that are to be unveiled when the movie releases.  This was supposed to be a battlefield between the nation but Dev, Roop, Satya, Zafar are caught in the battle field of love. The story that includes such a wonderful star cast in different roles with twist and turns gets so interesting that one will definitely want to watch the movie in theatres. The attire of every star on screen that will take you to back to an era, keeping you connected and entertained. The plot seems really interesting as is a movie everyone would look forward to. The trailer has been mysterious, and hasn’t given out the complete storyline. So, it’s left people curious and asking for more.

The films from Dharma are larger than life that has its own charm and purity that attract the audience.  Wherein, ‘Kalank’ has its back-story which was originally conceptualised by Karan Johar and Late Yash Johar over a decade ago. Yash Johar had personally visited Pakistan to pick up the shades from it, in order to recreate Pakistan for the shoot. Late Yash Johar had conducted research that goes beyond borders.  Karan Johar has put his heart in making of the film, as it was the last film he worked on with his father before Yash Johar left us. Usually, a brand value is attached to a film if it comes from this banner, which makes one and all look forward to it.

In a time where we see content being the king of a film, we have ‘Kalank’ with an ensemble cast, which not only gives us one reason to watch the film but also to see veteran actors like Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit working with the new generation. It will be one of a kind of experience to watch them on-screen together.  One of the USP of the film is definitely the cast, as we witnessed the eagerness and excitement has built among the audiences, and we know why? We see the hit Jodi of ‘Saajan’ together after more than two decades.  And their aura is undeniably perfect even today.  Undoubtedly Varun and Alia make the best pair in today’s time and age amongst the younger lot of actors.  It’s always a treat to watch them together, sharing a priceless camaraderie. On the other hand, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha will be seen opposite each other for the first time, and both seem impressive in their characters.  After a while, we see Kunal Khemu in an intense and new avatar.  Overall, this ensemble is one of the biggest USP’s of the film.

Period dramas have always been an experience to watch. It reflects the grand and grim of Asian history. These cinematic masterpieces take viewers back to a range of eras – Mughal-era, colonial era, Modern history and more. Regardless of the setting, they manage to give us some of the most stunning visuals that have left a lasting impression. Not to forget the most beautiful costumes and situational musical sequences.
