This film is an interesting expose about the blood trafficking issue specifically in Haryana and the Northern hinterland. Shankar (Randeep Hooda) is the leader of the blood trafficking gang which also has his understudy who is devoted to him Rajesh (Akshay Oberoi) and along with the other gang members in cahoots with the police they have a thriving racket supplying blood to needy hospitals and patients for a hefty price . Rajesh is in love with Poonam (Piaa Bajpai) and is a good son to his parents who are unknown of his nefarious activities. Shankar is in love with a Punjabi girl (Meenakshi Dixit) with whom he has had a heartbreak and is still pining for her. Also a very dashing cop (Rajneish Duggal) is after the gang and Rajesh’s luck runs out when they get a Hiv Infected blood and the police intensifies their action against the gang and they are finally caught but Shankar bails out all his gang members by taking all the blame and gets jail but his friends are out of the police radar and Rajesh becomes an ice factory owner and names his son Shankar after his boss. The film is set in Karnal, Haryana and the language spoken is true to the terrain and Randeep Hooda, being a Jat himself does a fantastic job as Shankar. Rajesh played by Akshay Oberoi is earnest and has a great future as an actor. Piaa Bajpai is good as is Meenakshi Dixit. Rajneish Duggal does a fabulous job. Shreya Narayan, Rajendra Sethi. Pushhkar Anand, Ashutosh Kaushik, support well. There is no scope for music. The DOP has shot the film in Anurag Kashyap style and the editing is fluid. The film is meant for cinema buffs who like issue based films.
At the box-office, the film has taken a dull start and will find it difficult to make a major killing at the ticket windows.
