Farhan Akhtar’ s forthcoming film seems promising since it’s presented by Nikkhil Advani who has won hearts with films like ‘D- Day’ and ‘Airlift’. It is directed by debutant Ranjit Tiwari. The film is based on true events and is a story of a common man from small town, about his dreams and the harsh reality he faces. Having a fine star cast in the film which seems interesting. The expectations from the audience will be high since the filmmakers and studios have proved themselves at the box-office. It’s about the lives of prisoners and their struggle between dream and freedom. The film is slated to release on September 15, 2017.

The trailer of ‘Lucknow Central’ is quite impressive having Farhan Aktar, Diana Pentty, Deepak Dobriyal Rajesh Sharma, Ronit Roy in one frame. It begins with Kishen (Farhan Aktar) explaining his father about his dream of becoming a famous singer. The trailer has a twist when Kishen gets arrested for a crime he hasn’t committed or has admitted? It gets mysterious. The trailer is gripping and has this thrilling concept that makes the audiences wonder. The film thrives on ambition, passion, friendship and determination.

Kishen Mohan Girhotra is a young man who belongs to Moradabad, a city in Uttar Pradesh. One critical day Kishen gets accused of a murder which lands him in Lucknow Central jail where he is awaiting his high court trial for a death penalty. Meanwhile, an assiduous NGO worker Gayatri Kashyap, ( Diana Penty) is obliged to form a band of prisoners for the band competition which is to be held in the dreaded jail of ‘Lucknow Central’ that year and this is how Kishen and her paths cross. Kishen befriends four other inmates, and convinces them to join the band. But has a different plan in head. The dramatic narrative of ‘Lucknow Central’ portrays how Kishen’s life progresses in jail and how music becomes a difficult part of not only his journey, but the rest of the bands as well.

The star cast is helmed by power packed performers like Farhan Aktar who has given Bollywood some commendable performances. Deepak Dobriyal who gained fame from ‘Tanu weds Manu’ is a fine actor and this time will not be seen in comic situations this time around. Ronit Roy has once again stepped into a villainous role and like always he is nailing it. The charming Diana Penty will be seen as a NGO worker. Her character seems to be different as compared to her previous two films. Apart from Farhan, Diana, Deepak and Ronit, the film also star’s Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal and Rajesh Sharma.

“Meer-E-Karwaan” and “Kaavaan Kaavaan” are the two songs which are gaining popularity. “Meer-E- Karwaan”, is a soulful song that will touch many hearts. The song is simple yet catchy. Amit Mishra and Neeti Mohan’s voice is simply magical and they effortlessly sing out the poetic lyrics. The song portrays the emotional aspect of the character’s who recollects their beautiful memories. On the other hand “Kaawaan Kaavaan” the Sukhwinder Singh song is rearranged by Arjunna Harjaie although the song has been rewrote with a few new words, there is still a good punch in it and is standing out. The song has been heard after 15 years; it still sounds fresh as ever and has been loved by the audience.
