The film is based on the true story of a boxer in Banares who has a passion for boxing and is always training hard but the authorities dislike him and hence they don’t qualify him for the Nationals. The boxer Shravan (Vineet Singh) is in love with a deaf and mute Zoya Hussain who fights against her mother Sadhana Singh and her family to get married to Shravan much against the wishes of her high ranking politician and the Federation of Boxing chief Jimmy Shergill who detests Shravan and always is conspiring against him so as to not give him an opportunity to qualify for the Nationals. Shravan is always trying and he gets a mentor in the form of  a coach played by Ravi Kishan who makes him a top boxer but Jimmy kidnaps Shravan’s mother and wife and Shravan rescues them with the help of his friends. His railway job too gives him a new set of problems. This shows the apathy towards sports we have in India. Vineet Singh looks the well muscled boxer he is in the film and fits the character and essays his character very well. Zoya Hussain makes a very good debut. Jimmy Shergill plays the antagonist very menacingly. Sadhana Singh, Ravi Kishan support well. Overall the typical Anurag Kashyap hard hitting film.

At the box-office

The film has opened to lukewarm response and it will be an uphill task for them at the ticket windows.
