Our Opening Day Prediction
‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ clearly as the title suggests is a remake of the 1978 classic, of course with the changes as per today’s audiences. The original has remained a cult and continues to be loved by people while the trailer of this one has received good response. We feel that this one might find its audience as well, and here’s why!
THE ORIGINAL CLASSIC
The fact that the original one is still fresh in the hearts of the audience, they will look forward to seeing the remake, as per the new age twists and present day scenario. Sanjeev Kumar obviously was one of the biggest USPs of the film, but the situations and the concept obviously is very relatable even today. For the sake of nostalgia, the same old film repackaged and the freshness to this one – all of it combined make ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ interesting.
THE CAST
Kartik Aryan is on a roll, especially after ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’. He’s known for his comic timing ever since ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ released; even when he wasn’t exactly the star that he is today. The fact that the audience has loved his comic timing, makes him the USP of the film with a subject and genre like ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. Bhumi Pednekar comes to this one after films like performances like ‘Sonchiriya’ and ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ this year, which is a refreshing change; in terms of the genre. Ananya Pandey has gotten her own share of popularity since her debut, among the youth, so one looks forward to see, what she has to offer with her second film. Overall, the cast looks promising and seem to share a great chemistry.
MUSIC
The songs have gotten popular, especially, the recreated version of ‘Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare’ is getting all the attention. The trailer and music are making the audience anticipate the film further.
COMEDY AS A GENRE
Comedies when made well are refreshing to watch. The trailer promises some funny moments and one hopes, there’s a lot more in the film. The audience is more often the not, very accepting towards a good comedy film.
