This film is a re-incarnation based love story set in the present and eons of years ago. Saira (Kriti Sanon) is a chocolate maker in Budapest Hungary where she meets Shiv , (Sushant Singh Rajput) , a young banker much in love with Saira, who woos her in great style and professes undying love for her and Saira too responds but she sometimes gets visions in her dreams which are inexplicable but at one party she meets a stranger Zakir Merchant (Jim Serbh) who she and he both think have a karmic connection with each other and when Shiv has to go for a conference for a week, she is kidnapped by Jim and she is whisked off to his villa on an island as he is a multimillionaire Merchant and there he recounts the whole past life experiences that he has had with Saira and how the lives of Saira, Shiv and Jim are interspersed with each other. On the whole it is a pleasant love story on the lines of The Reincarnation of Peter Proud, Eyes of Laura Mars, Karz, Madhumati, Kudrat , Karan Arjun, etc but the canvas of this film is huge and the cinematographer has done a magnificent job of capturing the beautiful visuals of Budapest, Croatia, Mauritius, Amritsar, etc. The editor could have trimmed the first half a little bit. Kriti Sanon acts superbly. Sushant Singh Rajput is a revelation in his role of a warrior and a banker lover. Jim Sarbh has the makings of a good villain. Rajkumar Rao is superb in his prosthetic makeup as the leader of the clan in a foregone era. Varun Sharma as Sushant’s friend is very good. Deepika Padukone sizzles in a special dance number. Sachin- Jigar’s background music is superb. A Film so well made, but the reincarnation love theme has been dealt with in earlier films.
