Director Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ is an upcoming Bollywood romantic film.  The film features Kangana Ranaut, Shahid kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. The trio looks impressive in this love saga period film set during World War 2.  The stellar cast and trailer have already made a buzz among the audience. It seems intriguing for the audience and why not it’s Vishal Bhardwaj’s film. Let’s analyze the reason as to why ‘Rangoon’ will work wonders at the box-office.

‘Rangoon’ is a love triangle between Kangna Ranaut, Saif ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. It is set against the backdrop of World War 2, the trailer showcases a world enveloped by war and also engrossed in very humane love and passion. The intense drama makes it seem like a breeze. Dialogues are taut and the presentation looks impressive with the big set up of the pre independence era. The use of VFX for the war scenes looks great. There is a Broadway musical feel to the trailer. The film looks a heady mix of love, war politics and history. A typical Vishal Bharwaj drama with intense feelings peppered with dark humour.

The star cast seems interesting when it comes to the trio showing off their elements, Kangana will instantly gain appreciation for her bold avatar as Julia, her character seems unconventional and hence makes the impact. Saif Ali Khan subtly makes his presence felt as the peer of the realm in the British India. His possessive dialogue, “you’re Julia, my Julia” is a brilliant glimpse of what to expect from his character. On the other hand Shahid Kapoor plays solider sporting in military attire. It will be interesting to see the two Bollywood hunks coming together for the first time for the film. The confrontational scene between Saif and Shahid looks absolutely entertaining.

The filmmaker has been an inspiration for the industry across the two decades with his command over his craft ranging from screenplay to direction, right up to soundtracks. He is back with his upcoming film with amazing soundtrack almost at par with ‘Haider’ the songs of the film are instant hit, especially “Bloody Hell”, mischievously crooned by the dependable Sunidhi Chauhan and the song servers for the ideal Victorian item song.  An out and out romantic number “Ye Ishq Hai” has also created a buzz and is on the top charts of the song sung by Arijit Singh. The mellifluous vocalist justifies the earthy composition and stand out. ‘Rangoon’, is a soundtrack worth savouring, one that won’t take its own sweet time to mesmerise the audience.

The eagerness reaches to another level when it’s Vishal Bharwaj’s film. After making commendable films like ‘Omkara’, ‘Haider’ ‘Kaminey’ he comes with ‘Rangoon’ to get the audience to the pre independence world created through his vision. From posters, to trailer, to full-fledged songs, the filmmaker is releasing better product each time. Let’s see what more he has to offer when the film releases.  The film will hit the screens on February 24, 2017.
