Saif Ali Khan and Tabu starrer Jawaani Jaaneman went on the floors in London this past week. The film also marks the debut of Pooja Bedi’s daughter, Alaia F and is touted as a fun, comic take on how a man confronts the harsh reality of his life. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film is produced by Jacky Bhagnani, Saif’s Black Knight Films and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films and is scheduled to release on November 29.

After conquering hearts with THE JUNGLE BOOK, Disney is now coming back with the live action version of THE LION KING. But now to make this film even bigger than it already is, Disney India have signed up Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan to voice for king Mufasa and his son Simba respectively. Besides them Ashish Vidyarthi, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra and Asrani have been signed to voice Scar, Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu respectively. Directed by Jon Favreau, Disney’s The Lion King releases on 19th July 2019 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Kriti Sanon is all set to play the lead in RAEES director Rahul Dholakia’s new female centric film. The movie is a thriller with a lot of visual effects and circles around Kriti’s character. It is inspired from real life stories but with a fictional setup. The film is written by Bilal Siddiqi and produced by Sunir Kheterpal along with Rahul Dholakia. The film will be shot in a start to finish schedule from August 2019, with the makers planning to release the film in the first half of 2020.

Sunny Kaushal, Nushrat Bharucha and Vijay Varma have been roped in for director Nikhil Bhatt’s Hurdang. The film is about a love story set in Prayagraj, inspired from true events and has the backdrop of the 90s. The film goes on the floors on 1st July 2019 in Prayagraj and is produced by Shaailesh R Singh.

Padmaavat actress Anupriya Goenka has now joined the cast of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s much awaited action-entertainer, which also stars Vaani Kapoor in the lead. The action-entertainer is directed by Siddharth Anand and the film is produced by Yash Raj Films. The yet UNTITLED film is scheduled to release in Diwali 2019.

Pen Studios’ subsidiary company, Pen Marudhar Entertainment, has acquired  all India distribution rights of Balaji Motion Pictures’ slate of four films scheduled to be released this year, which include Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mental Hai Kya, releasing on July 26, 2019, Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra’s Jabariya Jodi releasing on August 2, 2019, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dream Girl releasing on September 13, 2019 and Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare which releases later this year.

Saiyami Kher and Roshan Matthew have been roped in for Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming directorial. The film will have an ensemble cast apart from the lead pair as well.
