Omung Kumar

Sarbjit is being directed by Omung Kumar of ‘Mary Kom’ fame. Omung with his maiden venture as Mary Kom proved his credentials as a director and also he and the film both were critically and commercially acclaimed. Having such a established director who is just coming out fresh of ‘Mary Kom’s’ success is definitely going to be a strong point for Sarbjit’s success.

Star Cast

The movie has one of the best star cast that we have seen recently. The lead role of Sarbjit Singh is played by Randeep Hooda whose looks in the movie have created quite a stir. Randeep who has been known for essaying roles such roles and making them larger than life seems to have struck the chord yet once again. Another pivotal role of Dalbir Kaur, Sarbjit’s sister is played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan  who seems to have given one of her best performances so far. Another important role of Sabjit Singh’s wife of Sukhpreet is played by Richa Chadha. Richa who is known for playing unconventional characters also looks to have done justice to her role in easiest of manners.

Biopic

The year 2016 has been great for all the biopics released this year. All thye biopics which have released this year have done phenomenal work at the box-office. This trend was setup by ‘Airlift’ starring Akshay Kumar, which was eventually followed by ‘Neerja’ starring Sonam Kapoor, ‘Aligarh’ starring Manoj Bajpayee. Biopics having seen such outstanding success in this year makes it quite sure that Sarbjit will not be an exception.  Having such strong elements as the background of the film, Sarbjit is sure to get a garnered both critically as well as commercially when it hits the theatres on 20th May.
