Shaad Ali earlier this year directed his fifth directorial venture. The movie in question was OK JAANU and it tanked at the box-office, even though it was a remake of a Mani Ratnam film OK KANAMANI. However Ali is ready begin his sixth directorial venture which he will be making for Sony Pictures Network and will be a biopic. According to highly placed sources the movie is going to be based on the life of Indian Hockey player Sandeep Singh who was also the Indian team’s captain for a long period of time as well. The movie is going to begin filming by the end of the year and will shot extensively in the country. Our sources have also revealed that the filmmakers have already locked the leading man for the movie which is going to be Diljit Dosanjh. The actor heard the idea of the film a few months back and immediately gave his nod for the project. Singh was almost paralyzed for two years by a random shooting incident in a train but still made a comeback to the national team, this incident is one of the key features of the movie.
