Ever since last year when Shah Rukh Khan and Netflix joined hands the entire industry sat up and took notice. The deal meant that all the movies starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead or produced by his banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, were going to be exclusively streamed on the global Netflix network anyways. Now, however, another dimension to the deal has been added. Red Chillies Entertainment will now begin filming their Netflix Original show from mid next year which is going to be based on the 2015 bestselling novel BARD OF BLOOD which is written by Bilal Siddiqui. The eight-episode political espionage series is for now titled BARD OF BLOOD as well. The show will follow Kabir Anand, an expelled spy who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor to save his country and his long-lost love. The series will feature intricate, highly stylized action sequences. About this synergy Shah Rukh Khan said, “We have always tried to create world-class content and entertainment from India. Netflix has shown that Indian stories have a global audience, and we would love to use this platform and its reach to tell more stories.” Our sources reveal that SRK will most likely star in the series as he clearly wants to work on a single movie every year from this point on in his career. He is currently filming his next with director Aanand L Rai, co-starring Kartina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead. That movie is up for next year around Christmas.
