There has been a lot of talk about who will be the taking the lead in the biopic of astronaut Rakesh Sharma. Aamir Khan was attached to the project for the longest time but he opted out of the film late last year citing some scheduling conflicts and the producer Siddharth Roy Kapur has been since trying to get a big actor to portray the role in the movie. Now it seems that his search is finally coming to an end. The movie is going star Shah Rukh Khan in the leading role after the actor gave his elusive nod to the story in the past week. The actor is going to begin filming for this one in the month of September and will be resuming the last schedule of the movie in January 2019. The makers are now on the lookout to cast the female lead in the movie and that process is already underway. Initially Priyanka Chopra was lined up to play the lead but now she too has date conflicts. The film is going to be directed by Mahesh Mathai who had previously directed the 1999 film Bhopal Express, based on the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. The movie is a co-production between Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala.
