Our Opening Day Prediction

The trailer of ‘Sky Is Pink’ sprung in quite a surprise because one didn’t really know what to expect from the film ever since the title was announced. It was filled with different emotions and brought in immense curiousity and love from people. Here’s why we think the film will be accepted warmly by the audience and strike the right chord:

Priyanka Chopra returns to doing a Hindi film after three years and she teams up with Farhan Akhtar who is known to do some extra-ordinary, path-breaking work – be it ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ as    a director or ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ as an actor. There’s great curiousity to see Chopra in a Hindi film after ‘Quantico’ and all that she has achieved in the west. The two were appreciated together as a pair in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ and their chemistry here looks great too. Also, the roles seem so dierent for them. They play parents to Zaira Wasim and Rohit Suresh Saraf. Now that’s as unique as it gets. Also, they seem in their full element. The audience certainly looks forward to the film for this pair.

Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwwala who’ve given us some great films in the past team up to produce this one. Also, Priyanka Chopra joins in to produce the film. It’s the first Hindi film from her banner after making few regional films which have done well. It’s directed by Shonali Bose who made the national award winning film ‘Amu’ and ‘Margarita With A Straw’ which also won immense critical acclaim and awards at various international film festivals.

The story seems interesting and driven by emotions. It tracks this love story of this couple and its 25 year old journey from the perspective of their daughter who gets diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. The idea seems interesting and filled with emotions.

The trailer has been received very well and aroused curiousity to see the film. It was also premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. So the early buzz, word of mouth and reception to the promotional material has been good. CinemaPrediction BuzzBollywood Trade Magazine
