‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ has a very unique storyline. The movie attempts to do something out of the box. It addresses the issue of open defecation which is widely prevalent across the country. The director has a very satirical take on this subject. Akshay Kumar is paired opposite the very talented Bhumi Pednekar who is back on the big screen after her successful debut in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. The anticipation among cinema lovers for the movie is high. ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ releases on 11th August 2017.

Storyline

Set in two villages near Mathura, ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ showcases the love story of Keshav (Akshay Kumar) and Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar). Keshav, who desperately wants to get married, has his wish fulfilled when he woos Jaya and they get married. The twist in tale occurs when Jaya realizes that there is no facility of a toilet at her husband’s house. Jaya finds this unacceptable and gives Keshav an ultimatum to construct a toilet or face the consequence. Jaya’s demand turns his world upside down and he never imagined even in his wildest dreams that a toilet would be the cause of it. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us with this one.

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar are paired for the first time in ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’. An Akshay Kumar movie promises to be an entertainer and this one looks the same. Khiladi Kumar has once again tries to do something different and he always strives to take his performance one step further. This is Bhumi Pednekar’s second movie. She was highly applauded for her performance in her debut movie and the audience will be looking forward to seeing her back on the big screen. Both actors complement each other well and display amazing chemistry.

‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ is a family entertainer and people across all age groups can enjoy it. There is a healthy dose of humor to keep you in splits. The movie also gives a very important social message for everyone. The women in our country go through so many hardships but not having access to a basic facility of a toilet should not be the case and here’s
hoping that ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ brings about this change.

Music

The film’s music has been composed by Vickey Prasad, Manas-Shikhar and Sachet-Parampara. The album consists of four songs namely ‘Hans Mat Pagli’ which has been voiced by the melodious Sonu Nigam. Next we have ‘Gori Tu Latth Maar’ which is a beautiful track that showcases Keshav’s (Akshay Kumar) desire to be reunited with his wife Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) and is sung by Sonu Nigam and Palak Munchal.‘Bakheda’ is a romantic track which showcases the chemistry between Keshav (Akshay) and Jaya (Bhumi).The dynamic Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan have voiced this track. Subah ki Train completes the album. Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal have penned the lyrics for all four songs.
