Last week, we looked at the biggest stars amongst the big boys of the industry; with superstars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. So this week we wanted to look at the young actors who are on the verge of greatness. Who is it amongst the younger crop of actors who are just a few good years away from taking the mantle from these big boys?

Just like last week, we are going to look into the three years time zone for these younger actors too starting from 2015 and ending up with some of our predictions for them in 2017. So are these young actors who we reckon have made the cut. So without any further ado here are the three actors we are going to have a close look on; Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. The three of them aren’t in the age bracket but they’ve been the most consistent in the past couple of years and are also coming to their ‘game’ in the same period.

Ranveer Singh in 2015 had two major releases in in DIL DHADAKNE DO and BAJIRAO MASTANI which went on to do a total of 255 crores at the box-office. Last year the actor had only one release in BEFIKRE which went on to do 60 crores at the ticket windows. This year Ranveer once again has one major release in PADMAVATI which on paper can get to a lifetime total of around 200 crores, bringing his overall total in three years to 515 crores.

While Ranbir Kapoor has been having a sort of lull in his career he is once again starting to come back in the reckoning. In 2015 he had two releases in BOMBAY VELVET and TAMASHA both of them went on to do a combined total of 95 crores at the box-office. In 2016 Ranbir has one release in AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL which went on to do a lifetime total of 106 crores at the box-office. This year he is up with two major releases in JAGGA JASOOS and the Sanjay Dutt biopic both of which can do a combined total of around 350 crores; bringing Ranbir’s overall total to 550 crores in the three year period.

Varun Dhawan is the youngest of the actors to make this list; he debuted in 2012 with STUDENT OF THE YEAR but since then has been one of the most consistent young actors on the screen. All of his releases till date have brought in an above and beyond return on investment which is sensational given his small filmography. In 2015 Varun had three major releases in BADLAPUR, ABCD 2 and DILWALE which raked in a total of 295 crores. While last year he had only one major release in DISHOOM which went on to a lifetime total of 70 crores. This year he had two major releases in BADRINATH KI DULHANIA and JUDWAA 2 both of which on paper can get to a lifetime total of 200 crores combined; bringing his overall three year total to 550 crores.

It is simply phenomenal to see the way Ranveer Singh an actor without any industry backing has walked his way to superstardom. He is obviously lucky to be working with some of the biggest directors in the industry but that all can’t be only luck it is his sheer talent and also his passion for the movies which can been seen every year at the movies. And something tells us he has all the potential to give the big stars a run for their money in a few years time.

Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in 2007, but he still is one of the premier most actors in the country. His star quality is intact and every time he comes out with a movie the anticipation levels are high. His talent and knack of picking up movies which are different and new at the same time is second to none. After a lull 2014 many wrote him off but like they say, form is temporary but class is permanent.

Varun Dhawan is one with truck loads of potential and his diverse range as a performer truly sets him apart from so many of his contemporaries. It’s still early days for the actor but his star pull and general craze in the youth is what really makes him stand in a league of his own.

There are so many other young actors who are also on the verge and many of them will make a switch to this list very soon. But it will be interesting to see who will be gusty enough to take the right calls or simply continue to work towards to the bigger goal of being the best at what they want to achieve in this industry.
