Our client, Mr. Rajendra Chaturvedi, retired IPS Officer (1969 MP Cadre) and former Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh, has discovered through an article dated 8th May 2022 being Mr. Farrukh Dhondy’s interview titled, “I was at the right place at the right time”, taken by Ms. Smitha Verma and published in “The New Indian Express” (“said Interview”) that a web-series on the Late Ms. Phoolan Devi (since deceased), infamously known as India’s Bandit Queen, is ready and that he has written it from the point of view of inspector Rajendra Chaturvedi, being our Client, who got Phoolan Devi to surrender. This article has further revealed that the said web-series will be released soon on an OTT platform(s) (“said Web-Series”).
In this regard, notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that, till date, our Client has not granted/assigned/licensed any rights for writing any literary work and/or to produce any audio-visual work including film or web-series on Bandit Queen from our Client’s perspective based on his biopic/life story/ personality right, to any third party including Mr. Farrukh Dhondy. In fact, our Client himself is in the advance stage of writing his memoir/ books (“said Memoir”), which is based on the police operations, strategies and plans that he led and the events that transpired between him as a police officer and the Late Ms. Phoolan Devi which eventually led to the surrender of Late Ms. Phoolan Devi and her gang members.
In view of the above, all persons, firms, companies, parties are hereby cautioned to refrain from adapting/ producing/ publishing/ exploiting/ exhibiting any audio-visual content or the said Web-Series on Bandit Queen – Phoolan Devi & her gang members from the point of view of Mr. Rajendra Chaturvedi (IPS), failing which the same shall amount to an infringement of our Client’s his biopic rights /life story rights / personality rights / copyrights and our Client shall be constrained to take appropriate legal actions for such unauthorized use and/ or exploitation, which you may please note.

This Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that our clients have acquired from Trikut Films LLP, through its authorized representative Mr. Jitendra Adappa, the Intellectual Property Rights, entire copyright as per provisions of the Copyright Act,1957 including all exploitation rights and derivative rights for perpetuity throughout the universe in Hindi language (inclusive of dubbing and subtitling in all Indian and Foreign languages of the world) in the original literary works consisting of a detailed story, script, screenplay and dialogues in Hindi language, written by Suniel Yadav (‘Writer’), titled / tentatively titled “Timir” which was first registered with the Screen Writers Association (SWA) under Reg. No. 221356 with effect from 30th March 2012 and thereafter, reregistered with some modifications under receipt no. 106238429883 dated 13.06.2017 and under reference no. 110274616450 dated 09.09.2021 in the name of the Writer (“Script”) along with the title and goodwill therein.
The rights include the right and license to convert or cause to convert or authorize to convert the Script or its contents into a cinematographic film, feature length film, season based digital series, episodic programs, documentary short- films, tv show or web series etc. (“Audio Visual Content”), with sound, dialogues, music etc. in the Hindi language for perpetuity throughout the universe as may be deemed fit by our client based on the Script or any part thereof in its original form or in modified or altered form (collectively, “Rights”). Our client has the sole and exclusive right to produce or cause to be produced and exploit the Audio-Visual Content throughout the universe in perpetuity including but not limited to the right to reproduce, store, distribute, communicate to the public and exploit in any manner the Rights and make derivative works based on the same including the Audio-Visual Content. The Rights also include any and all rights to make any derivative works/adaptation/prequels/sequels/remakes based on the AudioVisual Content.
It is further clarified that the term Rights specifically excludes (does not include) the right to make/ produce a cinematograph film in Malayalam-language, which the Writer has already assigned to a thirdparty and in furtherance of such assignment a Malayalam-language cinematograph film titled ‘Irul’, directed by Mr. Naseef Yusuf Izuddin has already been produced and released in April 2021. Further, our client has restricted Trikut Films LLP from assigning the rights to adapt the Script in any other Indian or Foreign language or dialect to any third party till the date of first commercial release of the Audio-Visual Content and/or exploit the rights to remake or exercise the derivative rights or underlying works of the Malayalam film titled ‘Irul’ or exploit any underlying works or derivative works of the Script and/or Malayalam film.
ANY person, firm and/or company having any claim, of whatsoever nature, against or in relation to the said Script or the said Rights by way of assignment, pledge, gift, mortgage, charge, sale, litigation, and/or transfer of any kind or in any manner whatsoever are hereby required to make the same known in writing along with documentary proof and evidence of the aforesaid claim at the address mentioned herein below, within seven (7) days from the date of publication hereof, otherwise our client shall have the unfettered right to proceed at its discretion with such production one or more Audio-Visual Content based on the said Script without any reference to such claim and the same, if any, will be considered as waived for which our client shall not be liable or responsible, which may please be noted. (“PBI”) and Ami Trivedi (“AT”) the sole and exclusive intellectual property rights including copyrights in and to the under production bi-lingual Hindi and Tamil language film tentatively titled ‘The Great Man (aka Tera Yaar Hoon Main) (in Hindi language) and tentatively titled ‘Uyarntha Manidhan’ (in Tamil language) and starring Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mr. S.J. Suryah being written and directed by Mr. Tamilvannan (“Film/s”) including all underlying works ( including the script, story, dialogues, music) and any existing edited/unedited footage/rushes/prints/materials of the said Film/s.
Our clients understand that the Film/s were being previously produced by Super Cassettes Industries Pvt. Ltd. (“T-Series”), PBI and AT under an agreement dated 29th March 2019 and any amendments thereto (“T-series Agreement”) and that the said T-Series Agreement has been mutually terminated by T-Series, PBI and AT and as on the date of this public notice PBI and AT own the sole and exclusive rights to deal with the Film/s and all intellectual property rights contained in the Film/s and their underlying works and any other materials/footage of the Film/s created hitherto before. Our clients understand that except for PBI and AT no other parties previously associated with the Film/s including Purple Bull Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and/or its director Mr. Om Prakash Bhatt, Thiruchendur Murugan Productions and its owner Mr.Suresh Kannan and/ or M/s Studio Five Elements and/or their owners have any right, title, lien, encumbrance and/or interest in and to the Film/s and /or revenues of the Film/s.
Pursuant to the acquisition of rights of the Film/s and its underlying works as above, our clients shall have the sole and exclusive right to take over and continue the production, completion and distribution/exploitation of the Film/s across all platforms and mediums and all/any derivative rights (rights to produce any derivative works including but not limited to any prequels, sequels, remakes of the Film/s) and ancillary rights, attached thereto in relation to and associated with the Film, in perpetuity for the territory of the entire universe shall be owned by our clients to the exclusion of any other parties/ persons including our clients having the sole rights to retain all revenues arising from the exploitation of the said Film/s and their derivative works.
Any person, firm or company having any claim or rights of whatsoever nature, against the above-mentioned parties/persons and/or on the abovementioned Film/s and/ or our clients rights in the Film, by way of assignment, license, lien, transfer or reservation of any nature, and/or any claim against the Film/s and/or any claims which will in any manner affect our clients rights to freely and exclusively own/produce/exploit the Film/s including any claims by any vendors, third-parties and / or personnel’s engaged towards the development and production of the Film and/or towards any unpaid dues to any persons associated with the Film/s in any capacity may please inform us in writing in English along with documentary proof of evidence of claim at the address mentioned below within 15 (fifteen) days of this notice.Only claims attached with appropriate and specifically marked/defined documentary proof or evidence in support thereof shall be considered. NOTICE is hereby given to the public in general and the film trade in particular that our client Tips Industries Limited (‘Our Client’) have acquired the sole, exclusive and assignable rights, for the entire universe (“Territory”) and in perpetuity commencing from 15th October, 2021(“Term”) in the life story rights and biopic of Mr. Nilkant Phule a.k.a Nilu Phule (‘Personality’) which involves right to adapt the whole life story or any portion thereof including but not limited to the Personality’s name, likeness, sobriquet, voice, biography and identifying characteristics, real life incidents, Personality’s family members, incidents, professional work, journey, struggles etc. inclusive of adaptation rights in all modes, media and formats now known or devised in future, but excluding the any adaptation into live stage plays) (‘Life Story Rights’), to develop, produce, own, exploit, sell and distribute in the form of audio-visual content, any literary works, dramatic works, musical works, artistic works, publications, plays, games and/or in any adaptation where copyright subsists, in any and all the languages of the world, based on Personality and his Life Story Rights (‘Adapted Works’) and any and all other copyrightable works in the Life Story Rights of the Personality (“Copyrightable Works”).
The said rights also include the right to (i) modification including but not limited to right to fictionalize, dramatize, revise, modify, rearrange, change the sequence of events in the life story of the Personality; (ii) Derivative rights; (iii) to summarize life story to advertise /publicize the Adapted Works, Copyrightable Works and/or Life Story Rights (iv) to use and display Personality’s name, voice, and all other required biographic material including but not limited to behind the scene footage and clippings etc. (v) to portray the Personality by live actors as a character in any Adapted Works and/or Copyrightable Works (vi) any other rights not mentioned herein including all ancillary rights.
The aforesaid rights are derived from the Personality’s sole legal heir i.e., his daughter Ms. Gargi Nilkant Phule (“Assignor”). The right to create or, produce or license or assign to create or produce any derivative works based on any such live stage-play adaptation of the life story, in whole or in part and in any form or manner now or hereafter known, in any and all languages of the world and for the entire Territory are frozen in perpetuity, and Assignor shall have no rights whatsoever, in any form and/or manner, to exploit such rights (or any part thereof) unless otherwise agreed in writing by Our Client.
However, should any person(s), firm and/or company have claim or any objection whatsoever against, to, or in respect of the Personality, Life Story Rights, Assignor mentioned hereinabove, whether by way of any sale, lease, assignment, license, pledge, gift, mortgage, charge, sale, litigation, reservation and/or transfer of any kind whatsoever or otherwise, such person(s) are hereby required to make the same known in writing in English language along with documentary proof/evidence (certified true copies) of the aforesaid claim to the undersigned at the address/email address given below, within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication hereof, failing which the transaction will be completed without any obligation or reservation/ reference to anyone, whatsoever or to any such claims and the claims, if any, will be deemed to have been waived and Our Client shall not be liable or responsible to consider any such belated/frivolous claims . Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that our client has procured the option in and to the Israeli language, original, scripted television series titled “Ne’elamim” (the “Missing”) created by Yaron Arazi, including all its seasons, present and in the future, and its underlying works, including the format, screenplay, script, concept note and dialogues (“Original Show”) from Ananey Channels Limited and ADD Content Limited to (i) remake and adapt the Original Show for production of a local Indian multi-season television/digital/streaming series in the Hindi/Hinglish language (“New Series”); and (ii) produce and/or exploit derivative works of the New Series in the form of prequels, sequels, subsequent seasons, spin-offs, made-for-home video productions, audio clippings, shots (audio or video), feature films and short films in all Indian languages, stage plays, action figurines and internet websites based on such New Series (“Adaptation Rights”).
Our client has instructed us to state that pursuant to the procurement of the option in and to the aforesaid Adaptation Rights, our client has the sole and exclusive right to exercise and exploit the Adaptation Rights, either independently, jointly or indirectly under the banner of any third party; on (i) all modes, medium and formats in existence now, (ii) in existence now but not in commercial use on the date of execution hereof, and (iii) as may be developed in future throughout the universe in perpetuity.

ANY person, firm and/or company having any claim of whatsoever nature, against or in relation to the said Film and/or Any Rights of any of the said Film(s) by way of assignment, license, pledge, gift, mortgage, charge, sale, litigation, reservation and/or transfer of any kind or in any manner whatsoever are hereby required to make the same known in writing along with documentary proof and evidence of the aforesaid claim at the address mentioned herein below, within 7 (seven) days from the date of publication hereof, else the acquisition will be completed without any reference to such claim and the same, if any, will be considered as waived for which Our Client shall not be liable or responsible, which you may please note.
