“DD India”, The English News Channel, gives Global Coverage to President Trump’s grand gala Visit to India.
Doordarshan, the Television Network of Prasar Bharati – India’s Public Broadcaster, was all set for global coverage of ‘Namaste Trump’ Event and US President Trump’s visit to India through its English News Channel “DD India”. Doordarshan had deployed a vast fleet of HD OB Vans and Cameras distributed Across multiple locations in the three cities of Ahmedabad, Agra and New Delhi to generate the Live Feed for DD India which was distributed globally. Apart from the major American and European TV News Networks who were carrying the global live feed of DD India, the event was also available in Korea. Through DD India on the myK Platform as well as in Bangladesh via satellite. International viewers also watched DD India’s live feed through YouTube and through Prasar Bharati’s Global Digital Platform – News On Air available on The Android and iOS Platforms. Doordarshan’s deployment in Ahmedabad comprised one OB Van at the Airport with 16 cameras and two OB Vans at Sardar Patel Stadium (Motera Stadium) with 24 Cameras. 45 Cameras were deployed for the coverage of road show. One Production control room with connection to 45 Cameras for road show was set up at Indira bridge enroute to stadium. Another OB set up with loose 7 cameras was made at Sabarmati Ashram. All the four production control panels at Airport, Indira bridge, Stadium and Sabarmati were linked via Optical Fibre Cables to be uplinked to Delhi. The coverage involved more than 50 Kms of Optical Fibre ,nearly 100 camerapersons and as many for Production and management of the Technical Infrastructure.
At Agra a 10 Camera HD production set up was deployed for road show with 3 HD DSNGs. At Delhi, one HD OB Van with 10 Cameras and 2 HD DSNGs were deployed at Rashtrapati Bhawan for ceremonial reception, Guard of Honour and banquet in the evening. One HD OB with 8 cameras and 2 HD DSNGs were deployed at Hyderabad house for bilateral talks and signing of MOUs. One HD DSNG deployed at Airport Delhi for arrival and departure coverage. Two HD DSNGs were also deployed at Rajghat.
With this extensive deployment, Prasar Bharati’s global English news channel, DD India, was set to provide a bird’s eye view of the much awaited multi-city two day visit of President Donald Trump to India. US President arrived in Ahmedabad around noon on Monday, 24th Feb 2020. Trump was feted at the world’s largest cricket stadium in the “Namaste Trump” event and was cheered by tens of thousands of people. From Ahmedabad, he and his delegation travelled to Agra where they visited the Taj Mahal. The US president arrived in the national capital around 7:30 PM on Monday. US President Donald Trump was on Tuesday accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on the second day of his high-profi le visit to India. Trump and his wife Melania on Tues- day paid homage to Mahatma Gand- hi at the memorial of India’s Father of the Nation at Rajghat. After that US First Lady Melania Trump arrived at a government school in south Delhi on Tuesday to attend a session of the ‘Happiness Class’.
A state banquet was hosted for US President Donald Trump at the ma- jestic Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday night with its forecourt decked up to its glory for the last engagement of his two-day visit to India. Donald Trump left for the US after his nearly 36-hour-long visit, PM Narendra Modi thanked the US President for coming to India.
An unprecedented welcome was given to the US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melina, the First lady of USA, in India. The couple went back very happily. Donald Trump’s visit to India will be a memorable one. It has been a great coverage by “DD India”, the English News Channel.
