After waiting patiently for a while, the makers of JERSEY finally released the trailer of the film earlier today, and we have to say, it looks extremely promising. For those unfamiliar with it, the film is a remake of the super hit Telugu film JERSEY. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also directed the original and received the national award for the same, JERSEY tells the story of an ex-cricketer who returns to the field again to make atonement for whatever that went wrong in his past. This time, Arjun, played by Shahid Kapoor, gets to the field to hold his family together and in particular keep his son happy. But circumstances make him choose between cricket and his family? What does he choose, is a question that will only be answered when the film releases. Starring along side him in pivotal roles are Mrunal Thakur, who plays his wife in the film and Pankaj Kapur. Judging from the trailer, we are yet again in for a masterclass performance from Shahid as the trailer promises the film to be an emotional rollercoaster which might make the audiences shed a tear or more. The trailer has piqued our interests and we can’t wait to find out what’s in store for us when the film releases in theaters on 31st December, 2021.
