Pablo Cesar Heads The International Jury

It is for the first time that 51st IFFI is going to be held in the month of Jan 2021 this year because of Corona. Earlier it used to be held in the month of Nov every year. The 51st IFFI has announced it’s international jury with eminent film makers from across the world with Pablo Cesar from Argentina as the Chairman of the Jury. The other members are Prasanna Vithange (Sri Lanka), Abu Baker Shawky (Egyptian/Austrian), Priya Darshan (India) and Rubaiyat Hossain ( Bangladesh).

Pablo Cesar

Pablo Cesar is a Argentine film maker. He has contributed to African cinema by making the critically acclaimed films, Equinox, The Garden of Roses, Los dioses de agua, Aphrodite and Garden of the perfumes.

Prasanna Vithange is a Sri Lankan filmmaker. He is considered as one of the pioneers of the third generation of the Sri Lankan Cinema.

Abu Bakr Shawky, ”A.B Shawky“ is an Egyptian/Austrian Writer and Director. His first feature film, Yommedine was selected to participate in the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival.

Priyadarshan is an Indian Film director, Screen writer and producer. In a career spanning over three decades, he has directed more than 95 films in various Indian languages.

Rubaiyat Hossain is a Bangladeshi film director, writer and producer. She is known for the films Meherjaan, Under Construction and Made in Bangladesh.

The international Jury will award Golden /Silver Awards to the deserving films/film personalities out of the 15 films in the International Competition. This jury will also give the Centenary Award for the best Debut Director, out of the 7 films in this category.
