SHAKUN BATRA’S NEXT WITH DEEPIKA PADUKONE STARTS FILMING IN SEP!

Filmmaker Shakun Batra who’s last release KAPOOR & SONS (2016) will begin filming his next in September. The film stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday in the leading roles. According to our highly placed sources, the filming of this ‘domestic noir’ will begin in Sri Lanka for which the makers has already finished their location scouting before the nationwide lockdown was imposed in March earlier this year. The film was initially supposed to mount on the sets in May but now filming can begin from next month in Sri Lanka with proper precautions and shooting protocols in place. Our sources further reveal that Deepika’s character and look is one to look out for and has a new age edge to it, overall. The film is produced by Dharma Productions and the makers were initially wanting to release the film in 2020 only but now the release will be in sometime 2021. Post the Sri Lanka schedule the unit will come back to Mumbai and finish the film in the city by November. Incidentally, this yet untitled film becomes the second biggie post Akshay Kumar starrer BELL BOTTOM to start filming during the pandemic outside of India.
